Ski apartments can accommodate from 2 – 18 people and prices are usually for full occupancy (someone in every bed i.e. 2 people in a double). Many people pay a supplement to have fewer people in the apartment and therefore have more space.
In North America self catered apartments (called condominiums) are more spacious, often with loft areas or mezzanines. Swimming pools and hot tubs in the complex are the norm and services such as receptions and even breakfasts are sometimes provided.
In the last few years more American style ski apartments have been built in the French Alps, generally offering larger living space and bedrooms, a higher standard of décor and pools and saunas in the complex.
