The resort - Portillo...

Portillo is the original and most famous South American resort and has a beautiful setting high on the Inca Lake in the Andes. It averages more than 24ft of snow each season and you have warm sunny skies nearly every day making excellent conditions. The resort itself is basic and small with a few hotels, a bar and restaurant, but offers superb service of one staff member to every guest. However, what the resort village and nightlife lacks, the skiing more than makes up for!

The skiing and boarding in Portillo

The skiing in Portillo is a fantastic experience due to the vast quantity of snow and lack of other skiers. The resort limits the number of tickets sold so there is a chance you could ski around for an entire day without seeing anyone else at all! The terrain is varied enough to offer something for all abilities, however intermediates and advanced will enjoy their stay more due to the opportunities found off piste. It is once you take a route off the edge of a piste that Portillo really starts to show its pedigree with endless steep and challenging terrain and deep powder. Portillo is also home of the famous Va et Vient slingshot lifts which shoot you up the mountain at speed before you choose another untouched route back down.

The après ski in Portillo

Like Valle Nevado, the nightlife is limited and with the resort village all but made up of the single bright yellow hotel, most activity occurs in the hotel itself. The resort offers a deckside swimming pool, live music in the local bar and an all night disco before its back to bed to prepare for another day in this snowy wonderland.

Summer Skiing in Portillo

If skiing over the British winter months doesn't interest you, maybe a summer skiing trip to South America willl! Portillo is a charming family owned ski resort that opens at the end of June and carries on through untilt he end of September. Give our team a call on 08444 93043 to discuss your Summer skiing holiday in Portillo, Chile. See below a package deal price, and whats included for this amazing price....
