Yllas - The Resort...

Yllas is home to Finland’s longest ski runs, and offers excellent downhill skiing for beginners and intermediates. It also offers a huge array of other winter activities including reindeer and husky safaris, horse riding and Lappish nights which make it perfect for family holidays.

The resort is spread across two villages; Akaslompolo and Yllasjarvi with a free bus service running between them (when holding a lift pass). There are a variety of accommodation choices from hotels to traditional log cabins, with the largest range in Yllasjarvi.

The perfect clear skies give an ideal opportunity to experience the incredible North Lights throughout the majority of the season, which runs from November – May.

Please contact our specialists to discuss the variety of accommodation options available.

The skiing and boarding in Yllas

Like the majority of Finnish resorts, Yllas is an excellent resort for beginner and intermediate skiers but can boast the longest runs in any of the country’s ski areas. This makes it perfect for those who are learning as mixed in with groomed, cruisy pistes it in an ideal arena to progress quickly.

Away from the main slopes of downhill, Yllas can offer more than 300km each of snowmobiling and Cross-country skiing terrain allowing you to try something different such as snowmobile safaris. Both reindeer and husky safaris are available as well as visits to Santa, the Northern Lights, ice fishing and of course the traditional Finnish Saunas, including the famous Sauna Gondola!

The Après ski in Yllas

Yllas has a good selection of bars and restaurants in the Akaslompolo village, while the Yllasjarvi resort is more limited. There is also a huge range of winter activities to keep all ages and tastes happy including Icelandic horseriding, Lappish nights, visits to see Santa and snowmobiling safaris.
